A Note from Our Founder

When I first started my entrepreneurial journey in 2006, I had no idea where it would lead, I just knew I wanted to build something meaningful. What began with a dog treat company called K9Confections evolved into a path filled with opportunity, community, and purpose.

By 2012, I launched Secretary Central, a virtual assistant company designed to help small businesses operate more efficiently. A decade later, that venture transformed into Seeds Digital Marketing, a full-service agency rooted in branding, online strategy, and social media. It was built to serve and grow alongside the local businesses I care deeply about.

But something was still missing: connection.

In 2016, I founded Business Connects NJ with a simple belief, when small business owners connect, collaborate, and support one another, incredible things happen. What started as a monthly networking group in Edison has grown into a weekly meeting, a dynamic of trusted community of professionals who show up not just to grow their businesses—but to lift each other up.

Through both Seeds Digital Marketing and Business Connects NJ, I’ve been fortunate to build lasting relationships with local entrepreneurs, support community nonprofits, and give back in ways that matter, whether that’s volunteering at food drives or planting in community gardens.

For me, success has always been rooted in service. I’m proud of the businesses we’ve helped grow, the connections we’ve nurtured, and the impact we continue to make together.

This networking group is fun and entergetic, which is much better compared to the many other groups I've visited.  Everyone is very friendly and ambitious to succeed, while also encouraging  others to also be successful.  Jen Wilner does a wonderful job organizing and running all of the events and is a pleasure to work with.  The Business Connections I have made here are priceless!
